The Power of Your Intentionality
The truth in everything we do rests within the intention we place behind it.
Intentionality…
The way we energetically invest.
The way we choose to move forward.
The way we speak to ourselves.
The way we honor others.
The way we make time & what we make it for.
The way we disagree.
The way we celebrate.
The way we resist.
The way we parent.
The truth in everything we do rests within the intention we place behind it.
How do we want to participate in our lives?
How do we want to move through the world?
What do we want others to feel in our presence?
What do we want to activate in our hearts and in the hearts of those around us?
If we place no intention behind our actions or our words, then we’re missing out on opportunities for deep presence, profound healing, and expansive experiences.
Think about breath… we breathe automatically all the time. Our bodies are constantly working for us. We don’t have to think about it. It just happens.
But what happens when we enter a space— whether listening to a meditation (by the way, here’s a free one on my podcast if you need a little journey right now), steadying ourselves before a presentation, or trying to help our children calm down… what happens when we enter one of those spaces with the intention to take slow deep breaths? What happens when we draw air in through the nose, filling the belly & lungs, and then hissssssss it out with a long, steady exhale? We begin to relax. We may feel a small sense of peace. We may feel the presence of the Divine. We might enable the parasympathetic nervous system to hold & nurture us.
But if we don’t take that pause— if we don’t take that moment to reflect on what our body or a person we care about needs, then we don’t receive those calming effects. We continue to exist in a state of doing.
Less presence.
Less gentleness.
Less repair.
We’re living through a time of great chaos.
It is overwhelming.
It is exhausting.
It is saddening.
It is confusing.
But we can’t lose our light.
We can’t lose our hope.
We can’t lose our power…
If we resolve to be intentional.
Intentional with our breath.
Intentional with our energy.
Intentional with our words.
Intentional with our time.
Intentional with our rest.
Intentional with our consumption.
Intentional with our resistance.
And so, dear one… that is my invitation for you as I type this out is—
Be intentional.
It is more powerful than you can possibly realize.
